
The Red Cockerill Gallery’s 40th Sale-a-bration
Austell, Georgia – For forty years the Red Cockerill Gallery has celebrated and promoted the arts with custom framing, art classes, and beautiful artwork. Saturday, July 18th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. the Red Cockerill Gallery will be full of people enjoying warmer weather, great deals, farmers market, gallery exhibition, great arts & crafts provided by Starla Thompson with State farm and Rainbow International Restoration of Douglasville.

The Red Cockerill Gallery will be hosting “Adoption Day” and raising awareness in honor of the Humane Society’s 60th anniversary at our Sale-a-bration. The Humane Society of the United States is the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization. They provide hands-on care and services to more than 100,000 animals each year, and they professionalize the field through education and training for local organizations. They are driving transformational change in the U.S. and around the world by combatting large-scale cruelties such as puppy mills, animal fighting, seal slaughter, horse cruelty, captive hunts and the wildlife trade.
The Sale-a-bration Art Exhibition will be on view through July 24th. The pieces on display represent a diversity of achievements from many of our local artists that present a wide arrange of perspectives. Juror, Jack Shields will be presenting a special exhibition and gallery tour at 1 p.m..

“We are delighted to work with Jack Shields for this years 40th Sale-abration Art Exhibtion,” stated Ann Cockerill, owner of The Red Cockerill Gallery. Jack shields is known for his unique style of watercolors. Jack began painting in 1962, studying with such well-known watercolor artists as Rex Brandt, Robert Wood, George Post, Betty Lou Schlemn, Millard Sheets, Gerald Brommer, Don Andrews, and Tom Nicholas. He was featured as Watercolorist of the Month in the July 1979 issue of American Artist. The Sale-a-bration exhibition will have many local artists’ artwork, such as: Young artist, Adam Teal engaging his viewers with a landscape in vivacious and lively acrylic colors. Elegant glass etching by Ann Tewelow titled “Koi” will be on display. Susan Gardner demonstrates her beautiful techniques with pastel with her “Tom Glavine, Atlanta Brave”.
