Sheriff’s Office: Arrest Made in Subdivision Burglaries
More warrants are pending in burglaries in the Annawakee Trails subdivision.
A Douglasville woman has been arrested and charged as part of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigation of burglaries in the Annawakee Trails subdivision.
Tekia K. Smith has been charged with burglary, tampering with evidence and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to county jail records. She is being held without bond.
On its Facebook page, the sheriff’s office said the arrest came after the department executed a search warrant at a house in the subdivision. Over the past weeks, the office said it received complaints of around 10 burglaries in the subdivision, located in the southeast area of the county.

Investigators found “a substantial amount of stolen property” in the house that was searched.
