Student Breaks Into Alexander High, Starts Fire: Report

The 15-year-old was apparently upset over his grades, the sheriff's office said; classes were to be held as normal Thursday.

Douglas County authorities said an Alexander High School student broke into the school and set a small fire in the media center early Thursday morning.

Lt. Glenn Daniels told WSB-TV the 15-year-old was still at the school when deputies arrived around 1 a.m., and the student admitted to starting the fire over his grades. Deputies were able to put out the fire with extinguishers.

The teen apparently tried to hack into the school’s computer system to change his grades before setting the fire, AJC.com reported.

The name of the student was not released.
