Sweetwater Creek Watershed Plan: Corps Seeks Public Input

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host two public meetings to discuss a flood risk management plan for the Sweetwater Creek Watershed.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, will host two open house public meetings to discuss a tentatively selected flood risk management plan for the Sweetwater Creek Watershed. Findings of the recently developed Tentatively Selected Plan, or TSP, will be the focus of the meetings, April 9 and 10.

The TSP will be available for download on the district’s website beginning April 6.

Following the release of the TSP, a 30-day comment period will begin for the public to provide feedback. Comments received from the public will be used, along with feedback from federal, state and local agencies, in the preparation of a final flood risk management plan for Sweetwater Creek. The deadline to submit public comments to the Corps of Engineers is May 6. Comments can be submitted by registered mail, email, or in person at one of the public meetings.
