Traffic Alert: Lanes on I-20 To Close This Weekend

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Motorists on Interstate 20 west of Atlanta may want to give themselves a couple of extra minutes this weekend.

Lane closures are planned for the interstate in our area, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

Two eastbound lanes and the shoulder of I-20 will be shut down between Six Flags Parkway and the Downtown Connector from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, the sheriff's office announced.

Also, construction will cause one westbound lane and the shoulder of I-2o to be closed between the Interstate 285 interchange and Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution in construction areas.
