Truck-Theft Suspect Treed By Canine Officer
A police chase started in Austell and ran into Douglas County, where local deputies, and K9 officer Bando, got involved.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County deputies arrested a man accused of stealing a truck after a sheriff's office canine officer chased him up a tree.
The incident happened last Wednesday. Authorities say the driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram failed to yield at a traffic stop in Austell, leading police on a chase that traveled into Douglas County.
The truck was identified as having been stolen in Bibb County. Several Douglas County deputies joined in the chase, which ended when the suspect got out of the truck and tried to escape.

Bando, a K9 officer with the sheriff's office, chased the man up a tree near Thornton and Maxham roads, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, the sheriff's office says.
