Weather Alert: Douglas County Schools Make Decision
With icy conditions possible due to below-freezing temperatures, some roadways may be slippry on places.

The Douglas County School System announced classes would be cancelled on Tuesday, Feb. 17, due to predicted weather conditions.
However, the system’s 240-day staff should report at 11 a.m.

Douglas County government also posted this alert on Facebook regarding the possibility of black ice forming on area roads:
Black Ice on Roads Tuesday Morning until about 10 - 11 a.m.
Due to colder temperatures below freezing coming in to Douglas County after midnight, wet pavement may turn to ice early Tuesday morning until the temps get above 32 degrees.
Black ice will most likely form in low-lying areas/bottom of hills and in areas that the sunlight doesn’t get to until the afternoon.
