Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Panthers Win Title

Chapel Hill 20, South Paulding 14 – It wasn’t a pretty win for , but a win in the end, according to the Times-Georgian. The Panthers forced five early South Paulding turnovers and took a 20-0 lead early in the third quarter. But the Spartans fought back, scoring twice late, but never completing the comeback.
With the win, Chapel Hill won the Region 5S-AAAA title because of tie breakers. Both teams finished 5-1 in regional play and will participate in the regional play-in games next week.
Douglas County 22, Paulding County 0 – manhandled an offensively-challenged Paulding County team Friday and sent its seniors out with a shutout win, according to the Times-Georgian. It was the second win in three games for the Tigers who jumped ahead of the Patriots in the Region 5S-AAAA standings. Paulding County has lost two games in a row. Neither team qualified for the postseason.
