According to the National Weather Service forecast, showers and thunderstorms are possible this weekend in Douglas County, but the chance for precipitation is 30 percent or below.

Thirty percent sounds pretty low, but if you’re a “safe-not-sorry” person that may not low enough to leave your rain gear at home when you head outside. (Remember, this is Georgia, and when it heats up for the summer, you know someone somewhere is going to get wet.)

The weather service said high temperatures will be well into the 80s all across north Georgia Saturday and Sunday, with inclement weather possible after 2 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
