WGTC Guard Named GCAA/Region 17 Player of Week, Again
For the second time this season West Georgia Technical College sophomore guard Kelsey Walthall has been named GCAA/Region 17 Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Walthall averaged 16.5 points per game while pulling down six rebounds per game in a pair of contests last week. She also dished out four assists per game and was credited with 3.5 steals per game.
Walthall leads the Golden Knights in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game.
“Kesley has been a great addition to our team this season, and her efforts have played a huge role in our early-season success,” said WGTC head women’s basketball coach Kenny Edwards. “A lot of her qualities are things that you won’t see in a stat-line, such as her leadership on and off the court. I expect big things from her as we progress through the schedule and into the postseason.”
