- No More Social Security Administration at courthouse. The Social Security Administration is no longer maintaining office hours at Douglas County Courthouse due to federal budget cutbacks. The nearest SSA offices are in Marietta and Carrollton.
- Administrative Offices in Temporary Location: 3130 Golf Ridge Boulevard, Suite 110. WSA's administrative, engineering, purchasing, and human relations offices are now located at 3130 Golf Ridge Boulevard, Suite 110, at the corner of Chapel Hill Road and Golf Ridge Boulevard close to Gold's Gym. All WSA Board of Directors' meetings are being held in Citizen's Hall of the Douglas County Courthouse, and are broadcast live on dctv23. - Eat at Joe's and Raise Funds for the Dog River Library today until Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at , Chapel Hill Rd. A portion of your check goes to benefit the new Dog River Library opening in November. Bring two new or gently used books and get a free appetizer all during August.
- The Mentor Kick-off Breakfast will be held Thursday at 8 a.m., School System Annex, 4841 Highway 5 next to Bill Arp Park. Admission is free. RSVP requested. Becoming a mentor is one of the best investments you can make for their future. Just imagine how you'll feel when graduation day arrives.
