Youth Art Celebrated at CAC

The exhibition celebrates the talents of children and young people in the Douglas County Schools and three different receptions will be held.

The is pleased to announce the reception for the annual Youth Art Month at the Cultural Arts Center on March 4, from 2 until 4 p.m. The exhibition celebrates the talents of children and young people in the Douglas County Schools, represented by more than 200 art works created by students in kindergarten through twelfth grades and selected by their visual arts teachers.

The reception is hosted by Friends of Arts and Music Education (F.A.M.E.), a CAC satellite organization. A special cake decorated with images of the art works on display has been created for the occasion by the on Chapel Hill Rd., in Douglas County. The 2012 Youth Art Month reception is free and open to the public.

There will also be receptions for two other displays of student artworks selected by their art teachers in celebration of Youth Art Month. On Monday, March 5, a second reception at the , Gurley Road at Highway 5, will be offered from 6 until 7 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 6, a third reception is presented at the , 8700 Hospital Drive, from 4:30 until 6 p.m.

Different works of art by Douglas County students are displayed at each site–parents should check with their children’s art teachers to learn which site is displaying their selected artworks.
