Alma G. Davis Foundation Selected as a National Community Partner for The Allstate Purple Purse Moving Ahead Program

Duluth non-profit, Alma G. Davis Foundation, was selected for the Allstate Purple Purse Program to spread awareness for domestic violence.

ATLANTA – Aug. 14, 2017 – Alma G. Davis Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to aiding the eradication of domestic violence, was recognized and selected as a community partner for the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Moving Ahead Program. As a community partner and financial beneficiary of Allstate, the Alma G. Davis Foundation will help Allstate to inform the public about domestic violence and prevention, and continue to provide resources for survivors.

Through its mission to “Educate, Empower and Celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self-sufficiency,” the Alma G. Davis Foundation remains committed to rehabilitating abuse survivors of all ages, and helping men and women rebuild their lives. Through its signature, annual events, “Dinner for Divas” and “Walk a Mile in their Shoes”, the foundation raises funds to support survivors in their transition to healthy, independent lives.

Studies show, the primary reason abuse victims remain in violent relationships is because of a lack of financial independence. The Allstate Foundation works to raise awareness surrounding financial abuse, and through the Purple Purse Challenge, raises thousands of dollars and changes the lives of hundreds of survivors. The Purple Purse Challenge’s friendly marketing competition has raised nearly $5.5 million dollars for nonprofit organizations and abuse survivors. The funds raised give victims the resources to rebuild their lives and break free from the abusive relationship.
