Duluth-Based AGCO Wins Law Award

Global manufacturer of farming equipment honored among 3,200 candidates for employee recruitment, management and development of planning tools

Duluth-based AGCO has been named the winner of the prestigious Employment Law Team of the Year Award for 2011.

A global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, AGCO received the award in June at the fifth annual Global Counsel Awards gala hosted by the International Law Office (ILO) and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in New York.

AGCO was specifically recognized for implementing new talent recruitment, management, development and succession of planning tools, and for achieving common goals with employees through workforce development initiatives.

AGCO Chairman of the Board, President and CEO Martin Richenhagen said, "We are pleased to have been chosen for this prestigious award. We have worked hard to become the 'employer of choice' over the last year and we are proud to have been recognized at the international level,"

An analysis of effective communication, legal understanding, commercial awareness depth and strength of team and management skills conducted by in-house lawyers and worldwide legal departments was used to select the winner.

Awards were presented to both individuals and legal teams working in the following areas: competition, employment, general commercial, intellectual property, litigation and regulatory (financial and non-financial).
