North Gwinnett at : Next week’s home showdown with Peachtree Ridge for the Region 7-AAAAA championship may be on North Gwinnett’s mind this week, but looking ahead could be dangerous for the Bulldogs (7-1, 5-0). Duluth (4-4, 2-3) not only is a formidable opponent, but the Wildcats still have hopes (though slight) to reach the playoffs. In order for that to happen, the ‘Cats have to win their last two games (including next week at Mill Creek), and the loser of the Norcross-Collins Hill game will have to lose again next week. But North Gwinnett, with top-flight quarterback Scott Hosch leading the way, is just too talented for Duluth. North Gwinnett 34, Duluth 21.
Peachtree Ridge at Mill Creek: No matter what happens in this game, Peachtree Ridge will play for the Region 7-AAAAA championship next week. That certainly doesn’t mean the Lions (7-1, 5-0) won’t show up to play. Mill Creek (4-4, 1-4), which has lost three games by a touchdown or less, would be in the playoff mix with the right break here or there. The Hawks will provide a challenge, for sure. Peachtree Ridge 28, Mill Creek 24.
