Here are the top stories today in Duluth:

  1. After a one-year pause due to quarantine for the global pandemic, our neighbors in Norcross are preparing to celebrate the city's 150th anniversary in their town center. Their 150th anniversary was last year, but the celebration itself will be happening soon! (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  2. The Gwinnett County Police Department wants to hire more police officers to represent our growing and very diverse community. The belief is that our police department should be representative of the county, and if it is not the system will ultimately fail. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. The Aurora Theater in Lawrenceville is hosting some Ghost Tours and other activities around town during Spooky Season! The ghost tours will be happening around the Lawrenceville town center, and there is even a tour of the cemetery. Come on out and see what they are offering! (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Head's up! The City of Duluth has recently set three-hour limits on downtown parking. The areas that will be affected are any street parking and the parking lots around Parson's Alley. However, if you are planning on visiting on the weekends, do not fret! The new rule is only in affect on weekdays during school and work hours. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Our neighbors in Suwanee are hosting a Spooky Spirits 5K today! If you purchase a ticket with "spirits" you will be able to stop at local restaurants and order a 3 ounce sample of a cocktail. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
