ICYMI: Man on Moped Arrested in Marietta

Police say the man had an expired drivers license and more than three dozen bootleg DVDs.

Cobb County police arrested a man on a moped who was carrying almost 40 pirated movies on DVD last week, according to a report.

The Marietta Daily Journal says that Antwon Harris was pulled over at Washington Avenue and Fairground Street by police on April 2 because he was not wearing a helmet. Further investigation revealed that Harris was operating the moped with an expired out-of-state driver’s license.

Furthermore, police discovered 39 bootleg DVDs in Harris’ possession; the MDJ says that some of the DVDs were of movies that had just been released in theaters.

Cobb County jail records indicate Harris was arrested at Fairground and Rigby streets, and was charged with failure to wear a helmet while operating a moped, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and distribution of illegally recorded material. He paid $5,000 bond and was released from jail on April 3, records indicate.
