• Cold Case Arrest: GBI charges Hazlehurst man in killing of pastor, found shot to death on roof (wjcl.com) — A man from Hazlehurst has been charged in a 30-year-old Jeff Davis County church killing, after investigators linked him to the 1996 shooting death of Pastor James Hand on a Snipesville church roof. The GBI and Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office say the case remains active and are asking anyone with information to contact their Douglas office or submit anonymous tips. 
• HPD traffic stop leads to two arrests on drug charges (theblacksheartimes.com) — A Hazlehurst woman and a Jacksonville man were arrested after Hoboken police say a routine headlight stop on Georgia Highway 15 turned up suspected crack cocaine, other controlled substances, and drug-related objects. Officers credit proactive traffic enforcement, with help from Brantley County deputies and Georgia State Patrol, for getting suspected drugs and an allegedly impaired driver off the road.
