Brandon Beach Celebrates Georgia Pre-K Week

State Senator Brandon Beach (R- Alpharetta) read to a group of students at the Alpharetta Kids βRβ Kids Learning Academy in celebration of Georgia Pre-K Week.
This yearβs fourth annual Georgia Pre-K Week runs from Monday, Oct. 6 to Friday, Oct. 10.
The senator visit the school on Monday, Oct. 6. While there, Beach participated in a reading activity with the children, took a tour of the facility, talked with the staff and got an up-close look at the many ways the center is supporting early learning.

βPre-K week is a great opportunity for us, as legislators, to really submerge ourselves into the daily happenings of Pre-Kβs across the state,β Beach said. βIt was a great experience to see the smiling faces at Kids βRβ Kids and to observe the accredited teachers interact with the students. Facilities like this deserve our thanks for their hard work in preparing our children to take on the next step of life with confidence and knowledge.β

βGeorgiaβs nationally recognized Pre-K program supports a critical developmental milestone each year for 84,000 four-year-olds,β said Pat Willis, executive director of Voices for Georgiaβs Children, a child advocacy organization. βOur stateβs outstanding Pre-K program and other health and early learning programs work together to help children read to learn by third grade.β
Beach was one of nearly 150 state officials who visited some of the approximately 3,800 Pre-K classrooms located in all 159 counties across Georgia.
