6th District Race: Republican Leaders Continue To Line Up Behind Moody
Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann and Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones are endorsing the former state senator.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Former State Senator Dan Moody continues to rack up the endorsements of Republican leaders, as he hopes to come out on top in the April 18 special election to fill Georgia's 6th Congressional District seat.
Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann, State Rep. and Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones and former State Senator Chuck Clay have formally endorsed the candidate.
In a prepared statement, Hausmann said she's known Moody since before he was elected to the Georgia State Senate and has had the chance to work with him on projects to improve the quality of life for Fulton County residents.

"Like me, Dan was called to public service because he saw problems and wanted to be a part of the solution," Hausmann added. "His relentless dedication to getting real results is exactly what we need in Washington. I applaud all of the Republican candidates that have offered their service. Many are my friends. I have concluded that in this crowded field, Dan stands above the rest.”
Jones added she believes Moody is a man of integrity who can "get things done." She and Moody, Jones said, worked together to help create the city of Milton and reform public education to improve the institution for all students.

"I am supporting Dan Moody for Congress because I know that he will continue to be results driven when he represents us in Washington," Jones stated.
Clay, the former chair of the Georgia Republican Party, added he believes Moody's legislative and business experience makes him the most qualified candidate in the race. Having served with Moody in the State Senate, Clay states he knows first hand that Moody will "roll up his sleeves and get to work."
Moody said he was grateful to have the endorsement of all three Republicans, and believes their backing will help propel him to victory on election day. Moody has also received endorsements from State Rep. Chuck Martin of Alpharetta, State Sen. John Albers of Roswell and State Transportation Board member Mark Burkhalter.
The special election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 in the district, which covers East Cobb, North Fulton County and parts of DeKalb County. Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for residents to cast ballots. A runoff, if needed, is scheduled for June 20.
