Johns Creek Adopts Fiscal Year 2018 Budget
The budget includes money set aside towards plans to build a new fire station and funding for new sidewalks and resurfacing projects.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The Johns Creek City Council at its Sept. 25 meeting unanimously approved its $54.3 million budget for fiscal year 2018, which begins Oct. 1.
The budget includes $43.6 million in general fund expenditures for government operations and $10.7 million for long-term infrastructure maintenance projects, replacement vehicles initiatives, capital projects and E-911 services.

“The maintenance accruals are an element of our annual budget that sets Johns Creek apart from other cities,” Bodker said. “It shows our dedication to balancing new projects and priorities with the maintenance of our existing infrastructure.”
The budget is the annual operating plan for the city and directly aligns with the priorities set by elected officials. Highlights include $250,000 in construction documents for a fourth fire station, $134,244 for a new police officer (and associated vehicle and equipment), $7 million set aside for resurfacing and $500,000 for new sidewalks.

Overall the budget prioritizes providing leading levels of public safety, addressing traffic congestion relief, and steadily improving the recreation and parks system. Budget documents and accompanying presentations can be viewed on the city's website.
