Johns Creek Candidate Forum on Monday For House District 50 Race

The five candidates who are seeking to replace Lynne Riley for the seat will participate in a forum Dec. 8 in Johns Creek.

The Johns Creek Community Association tonight will host a forum for candidates running in the Georgia State House District 50 special election.

The forum will start at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Thornhill Clubhouse.

The seat, which will represent Johns Creek in the Georgia House of Representatives, was vacated when Lynne Riley resigned to serve as the state Department of Revenue commissioner.

Five candidates are slated to meet and discuss issues with Johns Creek residents. All candidates have confirmed their plans to participate: Libertarian Christine Austin; Republicans Brad Raffensperger, Royce Reineke and Kelly Stewart; and nonpartisan candidate Paul Troop.

The forum is open to all residents. An informal meet and greet will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, which is at 9200 Waits Ferry Crossing in Johns Creek.
