Scruffy-Faced Bank Robber Strikes Again

The FBI states the man who robbed Chase Bank on Tuesday in Kennesaw is tied to cases in Woodstock, Roswell and East Cobb.

KENNESAW, GA -- The alleged bandit known for his physical appearance and peculiar get-away mode of transportation has robbed another bank, according to the FBI Atlanta Field Office.

The agency said the latest robbery was reported around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Chase Bank in Kennesaw.

The suspect walked into the bank at 4490 Wade Green Road and handed a note to the teller demanding money.

Witnesses told police the man fled the bank on a bicycle, possibly burgundy in color. The man in question, the FBI states, is described as a white male with scruffy facial hair who was wearing a long-sleeve shirt, dark colored pants, sunglasses and a dark-colored baseball hat.

Surveillance footage and photos from Tuesday's robbery are "very similar" to a suspect in at least five other robberies in East Cobb, Roswell and Woodstock, the FBI notes.

Witnesses in several of those robberies also said the suspect fled on a bicycle. Before making an appearance in Kennesaw, authorities believed the suspect targeted Regions Bank at 865 Woodstock Road in Roswell. In that Oct. 19 incident, the FBI notes the suspect approached the teller and presented a demand note announcing a robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 40's and about 5'10'' to 6 feet in height. He also has a medium build, brown mustache and beard.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the bank without incident. That robbery was reported eight days after suspect allegedly held up First Citizens Bank Oct. 11 at 3060 Eagle Drive in Woodstock.

In that instance, the suspect gave the teller a demand note announcing the robbery. The man did not display a weapon, and left the scene on a black mountain bike with red accents and wide tires.

In the Woodstock robbery, the suspect was reportedly wearing a black Adidas shirt and a black baseball-style hat that appears to read "Jackson Hole."

On Oct. 4, the FBI notes a male suspect entered SunTrust Bank at 2880 Shallowford Road in Marietta and announced a robbery in a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect was also seen leaving the area on a bicycle.

The federal agency believes the same suspect is also behind two robberies reported in August. At around 3:38 p.m. Aug. 11, the suspect walked into SunTrust Bank at 2674 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta and once again turned over a demand note announcing the robbery.

In this instance, while a weapon was "threatened," the FBI states no weapon was observed on the suspect.
At around 5 p.m. Aug. 19, the suspect walked into Bank of America at 10750 Alpharetta Highway in Roswell and presented a demand note announcing the robbery. After he obtained the cash, the suspect left the bank on foot.

In one robbery, the suspect was wearing dark-framed sunglasses and in another incident, he appeared to have bandages on his hand.
