300 School Employees To Take Firearms Class, More Slots Available
More than 300 school employees have registered for Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway's free Responsible Firearms Carry and Safety class.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — More than 300 school employees have registered for Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway's free Responsible Firearms Carry and Safety class Saturday, March 24, but the sheriff's office said they are still accepting students. The class is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 12 Stone Church's Hamilton Mill campus at 3858 Braselton Highway in Buford. If you're a school employee and you'd like to attend, you can email the sheriff's office at GCSOCivilianTraining@gwinnettcounty.com.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER?
There is no official registration. Please just send an email to GCSOCivilianTraining@gwinnettcounty.com stating that you will be coming.

No, just an open mind and a willingness to learn.

No weapons are needed for this course. Please do not bring any weapons into the building.
IS THIS CLASS JUST FOR TEACHERS OR CAN ANY SCHOOL STAFF ATTEND?
Anyone who works for a school may attend. This means bus drivers, maintenance, cafeteria, administrative, etc.
