Bestiality Suspect Turns Himself In To Police

Cruz Barrera-Lugo, who was working as a landscaper in Lawrenceville, is accused of performing a lewd act with the family's dog.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A 61-year-old man accused of bestiality with a family's dog has turned himself in, Gwinnett County Police say.

Cruz Barrera-Lugo surrendered himself to Gwinnett County Sheriff's deputies at about 5 p.m. Monday, according to police.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Departent, Barrera-Lugo had been working as a landscaper at a Lawrenceville home on Saturday when police were called at about 5 p.m.

The homeowner told officers he was playing in the yard with his nephew when the nephew saw Barrera-Lugo participating in a lewd act with their dog.

When Barrera-Lugo realized he'd been seen, he stopped and drove away in a small, black two-door pickup truck, police said.

Gwinnett County Police say officers reviewed home surveillance video that captured the incident.
Barrera-Lugo had been servicing the family's lawn every two weeks for almost a year and it is unknown whether this was the first incidence of bestiality, police said.
