Business Owner, Doctor's Husband Rips Off Food Stamp Program

A man applied for food stamps for his family of 5 even though he owned 2 trucking companies and his wife was a medical school professor.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A man was convicted of five charges of fraud in obtaining public assistance after it was established at trial that he applied for food stamps for his family of five even though he owned two trucking companies and his wife was a medical school professor.

ONiel Warren Clarke was sentenced to five years by Judge R. Timothy Hall after a three day trial where it was revealed he had filed for food stamps despite both he and his wife making a substantial income. Clarke owned and operated two trucking companies during the time period he was receiving SNAP benefits. Neither income was reported to the Department of Human Services.
