Gwinnett Mexican Restaurant Fails Health Inspection
Rusty shelves and moldy beer taps were among the problems during the restaurant's failed inspection on Tuesday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Moldy beer taps, dirty utensils and warm sour cream were just some of the problems inspectors found during inspection of a Mexican restaurant in Lawrenceville on Tuesday.
La Cazuela, at 179 W. Crogan St., received a failing grade of 57-U on the inspection.
Among the problems cited in the inspection report were a server dumping ice from customers' glasses into an employee handwashing sink and fish for ceviche not having proper documentation of being parasite-free.

An ice machine and three beer taps — for Bud Lite, Miller Lite and Dos Equis — had mold build-up on them.
Knives that were stored as clean had food debris on them and foods including shredded lettuce, queso cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream and pico de gallo were being stored at too warm of a temperature (They are supposed to be stored at no more than 41 degrees).

Four containers of cheese dip also were not properly cooled, avocados that were supposedly cleaned still had stickers on them and shelves in the prep cooler had heavy accumulations of rust on them.
A food preparation area had "heavy debris" on the floor and walls and light bulbs in the bar and restrooms were neither shatter-resistant nor shielded with protective covers.
The score of 57 was a sharp drop from La Cazuela's previous inspections. The restaurant received a 94-A on its most recent inspection in February and a 91-A on an inspection in September.
Under state policy, the restaurant will be inspected again in the next 10 days. A failure to fix the problems that were cited this week could result in the restaurant being shut down, at least temporarily, until they are addressed
