Lawrenceville Senior Center Re-Opens
Seniors now make up 13 percent of Gwinnett County's population.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- After being closed since August, a newly renovated Lawrenceville Senior Center is open and offering more services than ever.
A ribbon cutting was held recently to celebrate the re-opening.
The upgraded facility now accommodates individuals with low vision, hearing impairments and mobility challenges. Improvements include new ADA-accessible restrooms, a larger dining area, an upgraded billiards room, a new card room area, a new hearing loop system for the hearing-impaired and a new multi-use room.

"Today we have almost 122,000 seniors in a total population of more than 900,000," Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Charlotte Nash said at the ribbon-cutting. "Seniors now make up more than 13 percent of the Gwinnett population, and we must continue planning for this expected growth."
The renovated center, located at 225 Benson St. in Lawrenceville, can accommodate up to 160 seniors per day.
