LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County residents wishing to salute U.S. military veterans this weekend will have several opportunities to do so.

Veterans Day activities are planned in Lawrenceville, Loganville, Snellville and other towns throughout the count. Here's a look at some of your opportunities to say "thank you" to those who have chosen the military as their way of serving our country.

Lawrenceville: Probably the county's largest observance of the day will be in Lawrenceville, where the county's annual Veteran's Day ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial. The event will feature a Veterans' March and the keynote speaker will be Col. Fred Van Horn, a Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart who is now vice-president emeritus of Georgia Military College. The memorial is located at 75 Langley Dr.
