Wendy's In Gwinnett County Fails Health Inspection
Problems ranged from an employee touching ice to tomatoes and lettuce being stored at too warm of a temperature.

SUWANEE, GA — A Wendy's restaurant in Gwinnett County failed its health inspection this week, with inspectors reporting multiple problems with food handling and storage.
The Wendy's at 1062 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Suwanee scored a 65\U on the inspection, which was conducted on Tuesday.
According to the report, an employee was spotted scooping ice out of a bin using a customer cup, allowing a bare hand to come into contact with the ice. Tomatoes and lettuce, for sandwiches and salads, were being stored and too high of a temperature and reheated chili was found to not be warm enough.

The restaurant didn't have hot water when inspectors arrived and didn't have a food-service permit or a no-smoking sign on display. An ice scoop was found with its handle, which employees hold in their hands, touching the ice, its dumpster area was dirty and the dumpster's doors and lid were left open.
Some floor tiles were found to be broken and the Wendy's didn't have the proper chemicals needed to clean up if someone gets sick at the restaurant.

The failing score was a big drop from the fast-food spot's last inspection in May, when it scored a 96/A. According to state policy, the restaurant will be inspected again within the next 10 days.
If the problems cited in Tuesday's report have not been addressed, inspectors could shut the restaurant down until the problems are fixed.
