Neighbors say '40-50 shots fired' in deadly shooting (wsbtv.com) — Residents at Stonecrest Mill Apartments in Lithonia were awakened around 1 a.m. by what they describe as 40 to 50 gunshots, leaving one man dead outside the complex. Neighbors, including a military veteran and a recent criminal justice graduate, say the barrage of rifle and pistol fire left them shaken and questioning their safety as police continue investigating. 
• Georgia: Recidivist Felon Gets 20 Years for Shooting Man Over $1 (lawenforcementtoday.com) — A DeKalb County man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after shooting another man in the foot during a dispute over a dollar at a gas station on Hillandale Drive in Lithonia. Prosecutors say the June 2025 incident escalated when the armed, repeat felon pistol-whipped the victim before firing, and a judge ruled he will serve the sentence without parole.
