Gwinnett Adult Shop Files Lawsuit Against County
Starship Enterprises joins Tokyo Valentino, which has already sued saying the county's new restrictions are unfair.
SNELLVILLE, GA — A second Gwinnett County adult novelty shop has filed suit against the county, saying sex-shop restrictions the county enacted in 2015 are unfair.
Starship Enterprises, which has had two locations in the county for more than a decade, filed suit last week in Gwinnett Superior Court, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported.
The lawsuit claims the county's ordinances are too vague and violate the U.S. Constitution by being based solely on moral objections.

Another sex shop, Tokyo Valentino, has already filed a similar lawsuit in federal court.
The Gwinnett commission adopted a new ordinance in October 2015, after Tokyo Valentino opened. It restricts adult entertainment to specific zoning areas, saying such shops are associated with crime and have adverse effects on their surroundings.
