Arrests Made In GA Mass Shooting That Injured 12

MACON, GA — Bibb County authorities have arrested two more people in connection with a recent mass shooting that injured a dozen people, they said Tuesday.

This brings the total to four people arrested in connection with Sunday's shooting that injured 12 people at a party held at Carolyn Crayton Park, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said.

On Tuesday, authorities said they arrested Lantonio Hill, 17, and Justin Green, 19, in connection with the shooting, which happened shortly after midnight.

Their arrests came after investigators with the sheriff's office, the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force served search and arrest warrants Tuesday.

Hill and Green have been taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and face 12 counts of aggravated assault, authorities said. Green additionally faces a charge of violation of probation, they said.

Authorities say they have also arrested David Pitts, 24, and Jaquez Bailey, 20, in connection with the shooting.

Pitts was charged with 12 counts of aggravated assault party to a crime, and Bailey was charged with 12 counts of aggravated assault, authorities said.

All four suspects are being held without bond, authorities said.

Partygoers were gathered at the local skate park when another group of people crossed the street, authorities said. During an exchange of words, authorities said members of both groups pulled out guns and shot at each other.

Deputies were on their way to the scene when they received reports of several people arriving for treatment at a local hospital, authorities said.

Initially, the sheriff's office said 11 people were injured - two of them critical but stable.

However, authorities later said they learned a 19-year-old man had arrived at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators determined the man had been shot at the gathering, authorities said.

The man was stable as of Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Also injured in the shooting were four 18-year-old men, five 17-year-old boys and two 18-year-old women, authorities said. One of the 18-year-old men and one of the 17-year-old boys were critical, authorities said.

The case is still under investigation.
