5k Race & FREE Health Expo

As part of our ongoing commitment to our local community, the Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church will be hosting its Fourth Annual Back to Health 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run on Sunday, September 21st. The event is designed as a catalyst to help families enjoy a healthier lifestyle, and is in support of the Let’s Move! initiative launched by First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition, the event is in collaboration with the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist’s Let’s Move Day, raising awareness of childhood obesity within our nation.

The race will begin at 9:00am and will include a 5K Peachtree qualifying race and a 1 mile family fun run. We’re expecting several community professionals and our own Health Ministry team to provide a free health expo and medical screening for the community, which will continue until 11:30 am. The FREE health screenings will include: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar,& BMI.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Lakeview’s Community Food Pantry, which provides meals to over 1,700 people in need each quarter.
