Cash & Jewelry Seized In Marietta Gambling Raid, 3 Arrested
Multi-agency investigation centers on the Gantt grocery store at 1033 Franklin Gateway suite No. 22.

MARIETTA, GA -- Three people were arrested this week behind a massive gambling enterprise involving thousands of dollars in cash, gold jewelry and expensive vehicles, Marietta police said.
A raid executed Monday at the Gantt grocery in Marietta turned up $250,000, eight computers, a cellphone, five luxury cars and a tote full of gold jewelry. Law enforcement authorities believe the store at 1033 Franklin Gateway suite No. 22 and another like it is involved in organized gambling and possible money laundering, police said.
A multi-agency investigation involving the Marietta force, police departments from Cobb and Douglas counties, and the Cobb District Attorney's Office, grew from an initial probe into alleged drug trafficking at the Gantt grocery store.

As the investigation stretched over more than two years, the GBI and state Department of Revenue also joined the case, Marietta police said.
Khubab M.Hussain, owner of the Gantt grocery, was among the trio arrested. His Douglasville home was searched in the investigation.

Marietta police said that Hussain is also connected to a convenience store at 461 Windy Hill Road, also involved in the probe.
Also arrested were Sampson Tabor Beye, a Gantt employee, and Arif Muhammad, an employee of the store on Windy Hill Road.
All three are charged with with felony commercial gambling.
Investigators said that more search warrants are forthcoming as law enforcement officers concentrate on the impounded property and bank accounts linked to the suspects.
