Charge Up: Job Search Event
Free job search event to help individuals better prepare for the 2014 Marietta/Cobb Career Expo.

CobbWorks in partnership with MUST Ministries, Georgia Department of Labor, Cobb Community Collaborative and The Collective at Cumberland is hosting the Charge Up Workshop Series on Tuesday, September 16, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Cumberland Community Church located at 3110 Sports Avenue, SE in Smyrna to help job seekers better prepare for the 2014 Marietta/Cobb Career Expo two days later.
Workshop topics include résumé writing, interview skills, social media and your job search, job search over forty and tips for job fair success. Workshops will repeat throughout the day to give attendees the opportunity to attend all of the workshops or simply come when it best fits their schedule. Job seekers can then apply their new knowledge by visiting the CobbWorks Mobile Career Center, a state-of-the-art, fully accessible computer lab, which will be onsite. Attendees will have access to the Mobile Career Center to work on their résumés, write cover letters, fill out job applications and more.
In addition to the job readiness workshops, HR professionals from Gas South and WellStar will be present to answer questions and give advice to potential applicants. A hundred attendees will also receive a voucher for interview attire thanks to Kamileon’s Kloset and Spirit of Success.

The Charge Up Workshop Series is open to all job seekers but does require pre-registration online. Interested individuals can go to http://bit.ly/1oHnr9L to complete the quick registration form. For questions, call 770-528-4300. The event is limited to the first 500 individuals.
This inaugural event is made possible by the Workforce Partners Council of The Cobb Community Collaborative and with donations from organizations like Cumberland Community Church, Gas South, KF Staffing and event partners.

About the Workforce Partners’ Council
The Workforce Partners’ Council is derived from a coordination and collaboration of the CobbWorks One-Stop Consortium and the Cobb Community Collaborative Workforce Council. The One-Stop Consortium provides guidance regarding service delivery, training providers, and program policy as a statutory function through the Cobb Workforce Investment Board. The Cobb Community Collaborative council structure addresses community areas of need; such as, education, homelessness, literacy, and workforce. By merging the two and creating the Workforce Partners’ Council, more flexibility is provided to address countywide workforce development issues and services. Representatives from public, non-profit, and business organizations involved in any aspect of workforce development services are invited to actively participate.
