Cobb County 4-H’ers Compete at District Public Speaking Competition

43 Cobb County 4th- 6th grade 4-H'ers traveled to Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, GA to compete at District Project Achievement

On Saturday February 11th, 43 Cobb County 4th- 6th grade 4-H’ers traveled to Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, GA to compete at District Project Achievement. There were 14 counties represented with 404 competitors. Project Achievement is a public speaking competition where students select a topic of interest and give a 4-6 minute informative speech on their chosen topic. Projects from Cobb County ranged from Vincent Van Gogh, to dog care and training, to the history of Legos. Project Achievement helps students to improve their writing skills and public speaking skills all while learning more about a topic of interest. Cobb County 4-H was recognized for having outstanding participation and a 43% increase from the 2016 contest. We are proud of these students! This event would not have been possible for Cobb County 4-H’ers without the gracious grant funding from our community partner Cobb EMC.
