COBB COUNTY, GA — Authorities on Friday say two more teenagers have been arrested after being accused of organizing a "teen takeover" that erupted Saturday at The Battery Atlanta.

This comes as police are planning to increase their presence due to more planned "teen takeovers" this weekend in Cobb County.

Nine juveniles and eight adults were arrested during the Feb. 21 takeover; and now, Cobb County Police said they have arrested and charged two 17-year-old boys with riot after accusing them of organizing the event.

The boys were arrested, charged as adults and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Wednesday, police said. They have since been released.

"Illegal takeover events are inherently dangerous. They disrupt commerce, endanger the public and divert critical public safety resources. The Cobb County Police Department will continue to identify those who organize, promote and participate in these unlawful activities and pursue appropriate criminal charges," police said.

Specifically, they say a "Cumberland Mall Takeover" is set for Saturday and a "Six Flags Takeover" is scheduled for March 14.

"Several concerned members of the community who have seen these posts have brought them to our attention. For both events, we plan to have ample resources available in the areas and intend to closely monitor activities of the attendees. We are not clear on the motive of these young people who take part in these events. As always, we want people to enjoy the many venues that Cobb County has to offer, but we urge all who visit here to be respectful of other people and their property," police said in a statement to Patch.

Cumberland initiated a 3 p.m. temporary curfew for any unchaperoned youth younger than age 18, the Marietta Daily Journal reported Thursday.

At that time, officers will reportedly check identification for anyone who appears to be 17-years-old or younger.

Patrons not at least age 18 will have to be accompanied by someone who is at least 21-years-old, mall spokesperson Lindsay Kahn told the MDJ.

There must be one adult for up to four youths, Kahn told the news outlet.

Optional wristbands will be distributed to a person who is at least age 18, the MDJ reported.

"While peaceful and lawful gatherings are permitted, criminal behavior, property damage, or activity that threatens public safety will not be tolerated. We will have a visible presence in areas of concern and will respond promptly to any violations of the law," police said in a statement to Patch.

"Regarding this type of behavior, large social media-organized gatherings involving juveniles have become a trend in communities across the country. Our focus remains on prevention, parental awareness, and accountability when necessary. We encourage parents and guardians to remain engaged and aware of their children’s activities, particularly when events are being promoted online. Our goal is simple: to maintain a safe environment for everyone in Cobb County."
