Dashing Through the Square set for Dec. 21 in Marietta
Donna Lowry to serve as ambassador for 4th annual 5K fundraiser
The 4th Annual Dashing Through the Square (DTTS) is set for Dec. 21 at the Marietta Square. This 5K fundraiser is hosted by the Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the PEARL Foundation, Inc. Donna Lowry, longtime Atlanta journalist, is this year’s race ambassador.
DTTS is an AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifying event and also includes a 1K Rudolph Run for kids. Each runner will receive a medal and T-shirt. This family friendly race will route participants past beautiful, historic homes and quaint shops that line the Marietta Square. Runners are encouraged to break out the holiday gear, and teams are also encouraged.
Angela Sumbry, Rho Zeta Omega Chapter president, said, “Proceeds from this event support youth enrichment programs and other initiatives benefiting Cobb County. This is a great opportunity to engage in a healthy activity in the midst of the holiday season.”
