Don't Miss the 2014 Fall Atlanta Home Show & Outdoor Living Expo, Friday-Sunday, Sept. 5-7 at the Cobb Galleria Centre

The 31st Annual Fall Atlanta Home Show and ALL NEW Outdoor Living Expo will bring two exciting shows together, creating one great event, Friday-Sunday, Sept. 5-7, 2014 at the Cobb Galleria Centre (www.AtlantaHomeShow.com). Hundreds of exhibitors will showcase the latest home products and services for both indoor and outdoor living. Landscape Designer Ahmed Hassan, original host of HGTV’s and DIY Network’s Yard Crashers, will speak Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1 and 3 p.m., headlining a roster of exciting speakers who will appear throughout the three-day event. One lucky attendee will win a Classic Kamado Joe Grill, courtesy of Builder Specialties. The Fall Atlanta Home Show is a SEMCO Show.

“Here in Atlanta, we are fortunate to enjoy year-round outdoor living,” said Michael Schoppenhorst, president of SEMCO and director of the Atlanta Home Show. “Our attendees have told us they are especially interested in ideas about how to integrate indoor and outdoor spaces and smoothly transition from one to the other. With the combination of the Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo, people can learn about the latest products and services inside and outside the home including kitchens, baths, porches, decks, pools, outdoor kitchens, landscaping, heating and air conditioning, insulation, fireplaces and so much more.

“The Show’s featured speaker, Ahmed Hassan, is ideally suited to address the topic of outdoor living,” Schoppenhorst continued. “He’s well-known from his hits on HGTV and DIY Network and his presentations are very popular. He’ll speak at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, and will chat with fans after each presentation,” he said.

One of the most popular exhibits each year is the SeeThru House, staffed by the experts of ConsultAHomePro.com. Here, attendees will learn what happens behind a home’s walls, above the ceiling and under the floor, and can ask questions and discuss ideas with plumbers, electricians, carpenters, general contractors and other professionals who will be at the exhibit every day. The 3,000-square-foot exhibit is designed to demonstrate the internal workings of a home including plumbing, decking, electrical systems, security, fireplaces, insulation and more.

Saturday morning, Sept. 6, WSB-Radio will broadcast two of its most popular shows live from the Fall Atlanta Home Show. “The Lawn and Garden Show with Walter Reeves” will take to the airways at 6 a.m., and will include Ahmed Hassan from 8-9 a.m. “The Home Fix-It Show with Dave Baker” will broadcast from 9 a.m. – noon.

Various landscape displays within the Outdoor Living Expo will be designated as “beer gardens” and are sure to become popular gathering spots each afternoon. Local brewers will offer beer tastings for attendees age 21 and older, and the $5 charge to participate in the tastings will benefit Hope Atlanta, the programs of Travelers Aid.

Show hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. General Admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the Show’s entrance and online at www.AtlantaHomeShow.com. Children age 12 and under and adults age 65 and older (with I.D.) are admitted free. Military personnel and First Responders receive a free ticket with the purchase of one general admission ticket. Members of Atlanta’s housing industry (Realtors, contractors, interior designers, landscapers, etc.) will be admitted for free (with business card at the show entrance) on Friday, Sept. 5.
