For the first time ever, Marietta Tree Keepers and The Rotary Club of Marietta are joining forces to raise money for an ambitious tree-planting effort.  The groups are co-hosting an Oktoberfest Party at Historic Oakton on Friday, October 28th from 7-10pm.  The goal is to raise enough money to plant 2000 trees at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

The Oktoberfest Party will feature tasty fire-grilled bratwurst and a festive, German buffet, plus plenty of ice-cold beer; a perfect way to celebrate a fall evening.  The estate and gardens at Oakton will provide a beautiful setting for the event.   Proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of 2,000 trees to be planted over the winter months at Kennesaw National Battlefield Park.  Marietta Tree Keepers has conducted several plantings in past years to help the park reforest threatened areas and enhance the natural landscape.   The public is invited to come and enjoy this casual, fun-filled and worthwhile event.  Tickets must be purchased in advance by mailing a check made out to Rotary Club of Marietta and mailed to Will Goodman, 581 Kennesaw Ave, Marietta, GA 30064.
