#UGACobbExtension hosted Family Fun Day at Green Meadows Preserve in West Cobb

On Saturday, August 1st UGA Cobb County Extension hosted Family Fun Day at Green Meadows Preserve in West Cobb

Last Saturday’s gorgeous weather at Green Meadows Preserve was the perfect setting for the finale of UGA Cobb County Extension’s Horticulture/Agriculture Awareness Week. Visitors started off the day with a morning tour of the Blue Bird Habitat Trail lead by Master Gardener Jim Bearden. The rest of the day was filled with fun family activities and outdoor classes with 4-H, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Horticulture. Families also enjoyed a corn roast, a food truck, a fire truck, bouncy house, frog jump, edible insects, bees & honey, and worms! The Community Garden, Orchard, Period Garden and the Cherokee Garden were also filled with visitors. Commissioner Bob Weatherford greeted participants with ice cold watermelon and Cobb County information.
