Fire At Biochemical Company Brings Firefighters, HazMat Crews
A fire started at a biochemical research facility in Cobb County Tuesday morning, causing firefighters to evacuate 400 people.
COBB COUNTY, GA — A fire started at a biochemical research facility in Cobb County Tuesday morning, causing firefighters to evacuate 400 people, reported WSB-TV. Firefighters were called to the HazMat situation at the CryoLife building on Roberts Boulevard. HazMat crews were on site to help.
Cobb County spokesperson Denell Boyd told WSB-TV that the fire has been put out.
WSB-TV reporter Audrey Washington tweeted on site that the fire started inside the building and burned inside a room with chemicals. She said the fire has been put out and one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
