First Trailer for Georgia-Shot "Hidden Figures" Released

Lockheed Martin Marietta's wind tunnel is seen. The movie is about the African-American women behind NASA's early days.

The first trailer for Georgia-shot "Hidden Figures" has been released, and several metro Atlanta areas are featured.

The film, which tells the true story of three African-American women who helped NASA in the early days of American spaceflight, stars Starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe. According to Deadline.com, they portray mathematicians and scientists Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who played important roles in the Mercury and Apollo missions.

The trailer, which you can see below, includes scenes from the cities of East Point and Monroe, the Georgia Archives building and the wind tunnel at Lockheed Martin in Marietta.

The film also stars Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, and Glen Powell also star. It premieres Jan. 13, 2017.
