Four local Resurgens Orthopaedics physicians named Top Doctors in Atlanta
Three receive honor in Atlanta magazine's July issue; one included in Castle Connolly online listing
Drs. Robert A. Kelly, Douglas W. Lundy, Steven B. Wertheim and Tapan K. Daftari of the Marietta, Kennesaw, Windy Hill and Austell offices of Resurgens Orthopaedics — Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice — were recently honored with prestigious awards for medical performance both locally and nationally. Drs. Kelly, Lundy and Wertheim were named to the 2015 list of Top Doctors in the July issue of Atlanta magazine and Dr. Daftari was included in the prestigious Top Doctor online listing by Castle Connolly healthcare research company.
Nine additional Resurgens Orthopaedics physicians joined Drs. Kelly, Lundy, Wertheim and Daftari as Top Doctor honorees: Erroll J. Bailey, Edward H. Holliger IV, Milan Patel and Yvonne E. Satterwhite were named to Atlanta magazine’s list while Drs. Roderica E. Cottrell, Robert T. Greenfield, Scott A. Kelly, Philip G. Ploska and Byron D. Rosenstein were included in the prestigious physician listing by Castle Connolly healthcare research company.
The Top Doctors listing is compiled annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. — an established healthcare research company based in New York. The organization also compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Doctors are nominated for consideration through both a nationwide survey and a peer nomination process open to licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton and Gwinnett counties. Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers then select the Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process that includes an evaluation of educational and professional experience.

Dr. Lundy, Resurgens Orthopaedics’ Co-President, said the practice is honored to have so many of its physicians recognized as Top Doctors.
“It’s extremely gratifying to be recognized by our medical peers as a practice that provides its patients with an exceptional level of care,” Lundy said. “Our physicians — both those honored as Top Doctors and those who are not — consistently demonstrate their commitment to excellence through their outstanding individualized patient care. The fact that we had more doctors recognized this year than last year shows the increasing respect that our practice continues to gain in the medical community and beyond.”
