Good Mews Grand Opening Celebration!
Good Mews Animal Foundation celebrates the grand opening of its new facility in Marietta! Come celebrate on December 6th and meet the cats!
Good Mews Animal Foundation, a non-profit, no-kill cat shelter, will celebrate its new, state-of-the-art, cage-free facility with a grand opening on Sunday, Dec. 6, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This festive celebration will take place at the new facility at 3805 Robinson Rd., Marietta and is open to the public.
The family-friendly event will feature tours of Good Mews (with lots of cats to see!), door prizes, a raffle, refreshments and face painting. Representatives of shelter volunteer committees, such as adoptions, shelter cleaning & feeding, communications, and “kitty buddy,” will be on hand to answer questions about becoming a Good Mews volunteer. A volunteer orientation session will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the shelter.
The event is free, but attendees are invited to help “stock the shelter” by donating needed shelter supplies for the cats. A list of most-needed items can be found at goodmews.org. Visitors can also purchase brick pavers that will become part of a memorial walkway at the shelter.
The shelter and adoption center features 5,600 square feet of free-roaming living space for the cats and kittens in Good Mews’s care. It includes large windows, bright cat and kitten rooms with ample play space, special needs suites to house cats who require dedicated care, and space for a planned surgical suite that will facilitate on-site procedures such as spay/neuter surgeries.
