Customers and associates in Kroger’s Atlanta Division donated more than $292,000 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The annual initiative, which ran from March 8 – March 21, encouraged Kroger customers to purchase $1 or $5 shamrocks to help the MDA send thousands of young patients to summer camps and provide comprehensive health care, medical equipment, wheelchairs, support services and clinics to those affected by more than 40 forms of neuromuscular diseases.

“More than 1.5 million Americans develop a neuromuscular disease each year and look to the MDA for assistance,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Kroger is fortunate to have so many generous customers and associates whose generosity helped us exceed our goal. Their donations will help inspire hope to all those living with neuromuscular diseases.”
