La Madeleine Country French Cafe Celebrates Julia Child's Birthday Week with Free Mini Chocolate Almond Tart Giveaway on 8/11

WHAT: La Madeleine Country French Café, a local favorite for French country cuisine, fresh baked breads and handcrafted pâtisseries, is offering guests a free mini chocolate almond tart on Tuesday, August 11 in celebration of Julia Child’s birthday week.

WHY: Julia Child was a pioneer who made French cuisine accessible to Americans, beginning with the release of her famous French cookbook in 1961. Her influence has impacted the past, present, and future of American culinary ingenuity. La Madeleine’s founder Patrick Esquerré had the honor of meeting Julia Child in the early nineties and still holds that memory close to his heart.

La Madeleine is inviting guests to celebrate Julia’s legacy with a free mini chocolate almond tart, as her favorite dessert was a chocolate almond cake. Guests can visit any participating restaurant and say “Joyeux Anniversaire, Julia Child!” to receive their free dessert.
