Man Accused In Killing Of Slain Deputies Has Court Appearance

The Marietta man is one of two suspects charged in the killing of two Cobb County deputies.

MARIETTA, GA — A man charged in connection with the killing of two Cobb County deputies had a probable cause hearing Wednesday, 11Alive reported.

Police identified Christopher Cook as one of two suspects accused in the Sept. 8 shooting of deputies Marshall Ervin Jr. and Jonathan Koleski. Christopher Golden is also accused in the shooting, police said.

The hearing Wednesday was for Cook.

His attorney reserved the right to ask for bond, 11Alive reported, noting the issue of a bond can be brought back before a judge after a 90-day period.

Cobb County authorities said Ervin and Koleski were shot and killed around 7:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Hampton Glen Court while trying to arrest Cook on a failure to appear for theft by deception warrant.
