ALPHARETTA, GA -- An undercover prostitution sting in Alpharetta recently helped a North Carolina teen reunite with her family.
Officers with the Alpharetta and Johns Creek police departments made the discovery earlier this month at a hotel on Kingswood Place, which is located off Mansell Road in Alpharetta.

The sting was carried out around 10:49 p.m. May 11 when undercover operators confronted who they thought was an adult female.
It wasn't until police began talking to the person at the center of the incident when they learned the details about her presence in metro Atlanta.

According to an incident report released by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, the girl admitted to police that she was actually 17 years old and was originally from North Carolina. She told police she was dropped off at the hotel by a man known as "Little Bobby."
The juvenile told police the type of vehicle the man would be driving and that he would be riding through the parking lot.
Undercover officers stationed outside the hotel room observed a vehicle matching the juvenile's description cruise through the parking lot and made contact with its driver, identified as Jamar Keante Girley, 22, police say.
The teenager told officers Girley drove her from the Tar Heel State to Georgia because she was told "she could make some money," the incident report states.
She also informed police that another woman and Girley were staying at another hotel on Old Milton Parkway. Officers went to the room at that hotel and came upon 19-year-old Natasha Otero.
Officers later learned that Otero and Girley were allegedly behind the plan to transport the 17-year-old to Georgia. According to the report, the teen told officers that she and Otero had been communicating back and forth through Facebook.
"The conversations between the female juvenile and Ms. Otero talked about her (female juvenile) going to Georgia with Ms. Otero and Mr. Girley," the report states. "And about how she (female juvenile) could make some money."
The teenager was turned over to her mother following the operation.
Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson George Gordon said the hotels were chosen randomly by the undercover team.
"This report does not imply (that) we have a prostitution problem at a particular hotel," he added.
Girley, a Marietta resident, and Otero, who is from Bessemer City, North Carolina, were booked into the Fulton County Jail on May 12. Girley is charged with pimping a person under 18 years old, sex trafficking, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance.
Otero is also charged with pimping a person under 18 years old and sex trafficking. She faces an additional charge of possession of cocaine.
Both remain held at the jail.
